Are you a passionate Humanities Teacher eager to inspire and support students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? We are looking for a dedicated Teacher to join a specialised SEN school in Guildford, working with KS3 and KS4 students, many of whom face challenging behaviours. As a Humanities Teacher, you will:
Deliver creative and adaptive Humanities lessons that engage and support students with a range of learning needs.
Modify the curriculum to suit individual learning profiles and develop personalized education plans.
Collaborate closely with the SEN team to manage challenging behaviours and reinforce positive behaviour through strategies that foster trust and growth.
Create a compassionate, inclusive classroom that promotes social skills, confidence, and resilience.
Assess, monitor, and report on student progress, adapting approaches to maximize learning outcomes.
Work with support and therapeutic staff to provide consistent behavioural support and individualised attention.
The ideal candidate will:
Hold QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or an equivalent qualification, with experience teaching Humanities at KS3 and/or KS4.
Have experience working in SEN settings, particularly with students who have SEMH or behavioural needs.
Be empathetic, patient, and committed to supporting students with complex learning profiles.
Be skilled in managing behaviour constructively, promoting positive engagement and self-confidence.

This is a full-time, permanent role and the salary will be equal to the main Teachers’ pay scale plus SEN points.
