Reporting into the Design Manager as part of the engineering design team, your responsibilities as the Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will include:

Producing designs for a wide range of automated special-purpose machinery
Producing mechanical and material calculations
Diagnosing modifications and improvements to existing equipment
Ensuring design & manufacturing feasibility of solutions
Essential experience:

Previous experience in bespoke machinery design
Confident knowledge of material handling systems
Sound experience of design for manufacture
Be confident in managing your own projects from beginning to end
Supporting manufacturing and installation activities
Mentoring and support junior members of the team
Be able to communicate with colleagues & customers effectively
Desirable skills:

Experience in SolidWorks
Experience in AutoCAD
Experience of the coil processing industry
Experience of machine assembly and installation
