About the Role:
We are looking for a skilled and experienced Site Manager with a carpentry/joinery background to oversee a school fit-out project in Peebles. This is an exciting opportunity to work on an important educational facility, ensuring the project is completed to the highest standards of quality, safety, and within budget.

As Site Manager, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the site, coordinating subcontractors, and ensuring the smooth delivery of the fit-out works. Your expertise in carpentry/joinery will be invaluable in overseeing the internal fit-out, ensuring that all work meets the required specifications and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

* Oversee the entire fit-out process for the school, ensuring the project runs smoothly and is completed on time and within budget.

* Manage and supervise subcontractors, ensuring quality control and compliance with safety standards.

* Coordinate and manage all aspects of the site, including scheduling, materials, and resources.

* Review project plans and drawings, particularly focusing on carpentry and joinery details.

* Ensure health and safety regulations are strictly adhered to on-site.

* Liaise with clients, suppliers, and the project team to ensure clear communication and efficient progress.

* Report on project progress and resolve any issues that arise on-site.

Requirements:

* Proven experience as a Site Manager, ideally with a background in carpentry or joinery.

* Strong knowledge of fit-out works, particularly in educational settings.

* Excellent understanding of construction processes, health and safety regulations, and project management.

* Ability to work independently and manage a team effectively.

* Strong communication and organizational skills.

* CSCS card (or equivalent) and relevant health and safety qualifications.

* Previous experience working on school or educational fit-out projects is advantageous.
