Business Development Manager – Dorset (Remote Possible) – Permanent c£65,000

A medium size Defence technology/manufacturing company is seeking to hire a Sales Manager to help grow their footprint in the UK and overseas.

You’ll develop relationships with key customers to identify and qualify new opportunities, as well as identifying and contacting new target markets and customers.

The role is a pivotal position in a small company and would suit an independent self-starter, who’ll be happy travelling extensively both nationally and internationally with regular reporting into head office.

Key Responsibilities:

•Identify new target markets and new customers

•Develop and lead campaigns in designated areas

•Create and implement contact plans to enable prosecution of capture plans

•Develop and maintain weekly visit plans

•Provide weekly feedback to line manager on prior week’s visits and developments

•Develop relationships with key customers to identify and qualify new opportunities

•Deliver compelling bids, owning the authorship and writing to a consistently high standard

•Hold bid signoff authority for those bids within notified financial parameters

•Provide in depth briefings to the Area Director in preparation for quarterly board meetings and the wider business on the pipeline and progress towards achieving sales planned against new opportunities.

The successful candidate will have a background in a sales or business development role within the Defence or Maritime industry.
