Functional Skills Teacher required
Salary/ Rate: £110-£160 per day depending on experience
Exclusive Education are looking to appoint a Functional Needs Teacher to work in a Special Educational Needs school in the North West. The role will start as soon as possible until the end of the summer term. They are looking for a teacher to take over the class and demonstrate outstanding teaching. Working in a friendly, lively and vibrant school. Previous experience of working as a Functional Skills Teacher would be required. The role will involve teaching a group of 6 students the following sessions:
* Functional maths and English (2 x 1/2 day sessions)
* OCR Life and Living Skills course- independent living and work skills sessions (4 x 1/2 day sessions)
* PSHE/ careers session (1x1/2 day session)
* Creative curriculum session
* Sport and leisure session
The candidate must also have experience of:
* Working with SEN students working at pre-entry / Entry 1 level
* Vocational qualification- OCR Life and Living Skills
* ASD and strategies to support
* Understanding of challenging behaviour and how it is managed
* Working with students aged 16-19 years old
In order to be considered for this role we require you meet the following criteria;
* Hold a relevant teaching qualification with QTS, such as a PGCE, B.Ed. or a BA Hons
* Have eligibility to work in the UK or be a UK resident
* Have previous experience of working with children and supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs
* Have experience of supporting pupils with behavioural difficulties
* Have good knowledge of the full curriculum
* Previous KS3 and KS4 teaching experience
* Two references working with children covering the last 2 years
* Hold a current DBS that is registered with the update service or be willing to apply for a new one
