About the Role
As an Applications Engineer, you’ll work at the intersection of engineering, sales, and customer service, delivering expert technical guidance for innovative power system protection solutions. You will play a key role in supporting internal teams and customers by providing pre-sales consultancy, designing solutions, and ensuring successful project delivery.
This position is ideal for professionals with a passion for cutting-edge power technologies and the expertise to navigate complex customer requirements with technical precision and commercial acumen.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Consultancy:
Act as a trusted advisor to internal teams and customers, providing expert insights on power system protection applications.
Pre-Sales Support:
Deliver technical support to the sales team by preparing proposals, conducting demonstrations, and assisting with customer negotiations.
Project Coordination:
Oversee the handover of commercial orders to the project engineering team and liaise with stakeholders to ensure successful delivery.
Industry Expertise:
Stay current with power system instrumentation technologies and standards, using your knowledge to position solutions competitively.
Customer Engagement:
Build and maintain strong customer relationships by participating in technical discussions, presenting solutions, and attending client meetings.
Future Innovation:
Identify new application opportunities through regular customer and partner interactions, contributing to business development and product roadmaps.
Compliance:
Ensure all solutions adhere to industry standards and best practices, including IEC 61850 protocols and SCADA systems.
About You
We’re looking for a results-driven and technically skilled professional who meets the following criteria:
Essential Skills & Experience
At least
7 years of experience
in substation, transmission, distribution, or power generation sectors.
Demonstrable expertise in
designing and implementing protection solutions
for medium- to high-voltage systems.
Hands-on experience with
protection relays
,
instrument transformers
, and
SCADA communication systems
.
Strong familiarity with
IEC 61850 standards
,
factory and site testing
, and system commissioning.
Proven ability to create and present high-quality technical documents and proposals.
A degree in
Electrical or Power Engineering
.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts for diverse audiences.
Self-motivated and able to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
Willingness to travel domestically and internationally to represent the company.
Desirable Skills & Qualifications
Customer-facing experience in technical sales or business development.
Advanced knowledge of protection and control systems in the transmission and distribution sector.
Master’s degree in Electrical or Power Systems Engineering.
Commercial awareness and ability to articulate customer needs effectively.
Site testing and commissioning experience.
