Howdens is looking for a Junior Demand Planner to join our dynamic commercial business planning team based in Howden, East Yorkshire. As a FTSE 100 company undergoing an exciting phase of transformation and growth, this role presents a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious, data-driven individual to make a direct impact on capacity and resource planning across manufacturing, logistics, and suppliers.

In this role, you will be responsible for accurately forecasting stock demand across all primary distribution centres for a specific group of products. This involves analysing sales, allocations, and dispatch history, refining forecasts as needed, and developing the most suitable statistical models. You will also leverage relevant management information (MI) and select the best forecasting approach based on accuracy metrics and sales trends.

What will you be doing as a Junior Demand Planner:

This Junior Demand Planner role offers an excellent opportunity to establish a rewarding career, with planned training and development to reach role objectives and opportunities for promotion. 

As Junior Demand Planner, will have the opportunity to build strong relationships across several departments including Marketing, RTM Support (Route to Market) and Supply Planning. Inquisitive by nature, you will gather relevant management information, and ensure understanding and alignment to the business demand plan. 

Key to the role is the ability to confidently articulate the Demand Plan, provide appropriate context information to the supply planning and purchasing teams and demonstrate its accuracy. The requirement is too pro-actively identify and address forecast accuracy issues, as well as responding to business queries in a prompt and professional manner. 

What do you need to qualify for the Junior Demand Planner:

- Minimum “GCSE” Level qualified with passes at Grade C or above in both Mathematics and English.
- Strong ability of IT Systems including Microsoft Packages 
- Clear written & verbal communication  
- Proactive, with an ability to make decisions, combining data, MI, and intuition 
- Ability to build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships 
- The role will suit a graduate, or someone who has experience of working in an office environment.
