Bennett & Game are delighted to be partnering with a highly experienced and reputable accountancy practice based in Grays, as they look to recruit a new Tax Manager. This medium sized practice has 3 different locations, and 5 partners. They boast a very high staff retention rate, and this position has become available due to a retirement. They are offering a competitive salary depending on experience from £65k-80k per annum, hybrid working, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, business travel, auto pension enrolment, and sick pay of 20 days.

You will be managing an extensive portfolio of (Apply online only) personal tax returns and other ad hoc tax advice for clients. All whilst playing a vital part in developing and increasing the firms reach, and expanding the portfolio

Tax Manager Position Overview

Tax Compliance - Reviewing and manage corporation tax returns, personal tax returns and other tax filings prepared to the team, ensuring all submissions are accurate and compliant
Tax Advisory - Provide tailored tax planning advice to clients, and advise them on the implications of tax changes, and opportunities for tax efficiency
Client Relations - Managing a portfolio of clients across different industries, of (Apply online only) clients. Attending client meetings, visiting clients, and acting as the main point of contact for any tax related queries
Technical expertise - staying current with changes in tax legislation and regulations
Risk Management - Identify and mitigate tax risks for clients
Tax planning - Developing and implementing tax planning strategies
Team leadership - Supervise and mentor junior staff, ensuring their development and progression, and direct team towards company targets and goals.
Collaboration - Working closely with other departments, including accounts and audit teams
Strategy and Business Development - Identify and implement opportunities to improve the firms tax services, and develop the portfolio

Tax Manager Position Requirements

CTA qualified, with ideally 5 years post qualification experience
Experience working within tax in a practice environment, with an excellent understanding of personal tax and corporate tax.
Personal tax expert
Minimum of 5 years Accountancy practice experience
UK Citizen and no requirement for sponsorship
Able to commute to Grays office
Well spoken, polite, professional, personable, and ambitious individual required

Tax Manager Position Remuneration

Salary in the £(phone number removed) (depending on experience)
Hybrid working split, of 2 days WFH and 3 days in office
Flexible working hours, but standard hours of 9-5 with 1 hour lunch
25 days holiday + bank holidays
Pension entitlement per auto-enrolment
