Description
You will head up the procurement function and provide the strategic lead for procurement across the organisation. Leading a small, although highly effective, team, activities will range from managing the coordination of procurement and contract management activities, liaising with the individual business areas to provide sound procurement advice.
Providing strategic procurement advice across all levels and departments of the organisation to inform decision making
Ensuring the procurement activity is compliant in relation to UK procurement law (Procurement Act 2015) and represents best practice
You will be a strong stakeholder manager with commercial awareness and strong negotiating skills
Develop and implement effective procurement strategies
Manage supplier relationships and negotiate contracts
Ensure compliance with procurement policies and procedures
Lead, develop and motivate the procurement team
Monitor supplier performance to ensure contractual obligations are met
Work closely with other departments to forecast future supply needs
Continually identify opportunities to improve procurement processes
Maintain accurate records of purchases and pricingProfile
A successful Procurement Manager should have:
A Procurement Industry related Professional Qualification (MCIPS, CIPS, Logistics and supply chain MSc or equivalent similar) or working experience towards
Proven experience in a similar role within the Not For Profit / Public Sector and you must have full knowledge of Procurement Act 2015
Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage a team
Exceptional negotiation skills and the ability to develop relationships with suppliers
A good understanding of procurement processes, policy, and systems
