Our local government client is recruiting a Planning Administrative Officer to efficiently process transferred planning data files, including pre-application and planning applications, appeals and enforcements, financial

and other legal agreements, from initial submission to the final decision stage. We are looking to recruit a team player who can demonstrate knowledge of relevant legislation and guidance, an understanding of planning, or a willingness to learn.

Responsibility

Managed various planning applications, appeals, and pre-application processing, utilising GIS planning IT systems. Maintaining compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), particularly regarding redacting sensitive information in preparing documents. Uploading documents to the planning system and publishing them, including drawings and plans, through the planning portal.

Qualification – Essential

* GCSE Grade A-C (or equivalent) in English Language and Mathematics.

* Degree or equivalent experience

* Knowledge of GIS planning IT systems

* Advanced –Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Social Media.

Essential - Skills, Abilities, & Experience

* A strong experience using Adobe Professional Reader for redacting and combining PDF files.

* Have general experience using Google applications, i.e. Google Docs and Google Drive.

* Familiarity with processing applications efficiently, handling paperwork, verifying details, and ensuring compliance is crucial.

* Proficiency in Data entry and planning application processing, including verifying information for accuracy and updating customer and application data in computer systems.

* Knowledge of best practice customer service and a commitment to an excellent customer experience.

* Abele will demonstrate operational and administrative office experience and work under general direction.

* Good time management and organisational skills.

* Able to receive specific direction, accept guidance, and review work at agreed milestones.

* Able to use discretion in identifying and responding to complex issues related to one's assignments.

* Determines when issues should be escalated to a higher level.

* Plans and monitors own work competently within limited deadlines.

* Teamwork-focused and made the best use of personal skills; dedicated to delivering high-quality services in tight timeframes.

* Must have a strong focus on detail and an ability to work quickly and accurately.

* Commitment to performance management to achieve personal and service delivery goals and measure outputs.
