R&D Electronic Technician

Our client, based in South Wales is looking for a key individual to join their specialist team. This is an exciting opportunity for somebody to join their organisation, with excellent development opportunities.
You will be working within a small team, involved in the research & development, design and production of exciting projects.
Key Responsibilities:
* Work independently on projects with minimal supervision
* Reading electronic schematics, soldering down to component level and crimping of harness assemblies.
* Assembly/Test of current production products
* Support of in field upgrades/repairs which may include foreign travel
* Ability to think logically with safety at the forefront
* Ability to motivate and drive both yourself and surrounding team members
Skills:
* Hands-on experience assembling, testing and repairing electronic prototypes to component level
* Experience with RF (Radio frequency) would be advantageous
* Research & Development experience (Desirable, not essential)
* Experience with hand tools and programmable logic controllers
* Strong electronic knowledge
* Ability to work with power tools effectively
* Prior experience in assembly processes and attention to detail
* Certification in electrical or electronic assembly is a plus
