What You Will Do:

- Spearhead the implementation and maintenance of the highest operational EHS standards, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and environmental permits.

- Develop strategic EHS improvement plans for the mid- and long-term, driving the company towards its sustainability goals, including Carbon Net Zero.

- Lead by example in the company's Zero Harm strategy, promoting a safety-first culture across all levels of the organisation.

- Manage incident responses with decisiveness and clear communication, conducting thorough investigations to prevent future occurrences.

- Oversee the allocation of a substantial annual budget for EHS, contracted services, and safety training, ensuring efficient use of resources.

- Engage actively with all business functions, external partners, and regulatory bodies to uphold and advance EHS standards.

What You Will Bring:

- A strong background of operational leadership experience in EHS, backed by relevant qualifications such as NEBOSH Level 6 and IEMA.

- A proven track record of defining and executing EHS strategies within industrial settings, demonstrating a robust technical understanding of safety requirements.

- Experience in leading incident management and communicating complex issues to a diverse audience.

- Demonstrated capability in managing waste and recycling operations efficiently and effectively.

- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to coach, mentor, and develop team members, alongside excellent budget management skills.
