Purchasing Planner

An exciting position has become available for a full-time Purchasing planner based in Surrey. The successful candidate will earn £39,000.00 per annum. Candidates should be local, as relocation expenses will not be paid.

Hours of work will be 35 hours per week, 9am-5pm Monday to Friday with a one-hour lunch break.

Role Requirements

Business/commercial degree preferred, or equivalent qualifications
Experienced in purchasing, preferably in a chemical environment
Familiarity with SAP is a plus
Strong Excel skills required
Knowledge of incoterms, import/export procedures/customs clearance an advantage
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Ability to drive cost reductions and business improvements
Role Responsibilities

Responsible for site based Purchasing activities, working under guidance from UK Supply Chain Manager and Purchasing & SC Head Office.

Schedule on time inbound deliveries of raw materials to support production schedule/avoid delays.
Control stock levels within budget, reduce obsolescence, and minimize batch sizes for slow-moving items during purchasing.
To support New Product Introduction and the Formulation Change 
Develop supplier relationships and maintain contracts
Purchasing of non-direct material/services.
Develop and implement purchasing policies to meet business objectives
Identify opportunities for cost savings
