Clearfield Recruitment have partnered with a leader in designing and manufacturing control panels and automation systems, primarily serving the food and beverage industry. We are currently looking for a hands-on Commissioning Engineer to join the team and provide vital on-site support to their customers.
You will be the primary point of contact on-site, ensuring that systems are properly installed, tested, and fully operational. Acting as both a technical expert and customer service manager, you’ll be responsible for training customers on system use and modifications, identifying and fixing any design issues, and ensuring that all installations meet the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities of this role to include:
* Commission, test, and troubleshoot automation and control systems on customer sites.
* Provide on-site training to customers, showing them how to use, modify, and maintain the systems.
* Act as a technical advisor and customer service representative, addressing any issues that arise after installation.
* Diagnose and resolve design faults or performance issues once systems are in place.
* Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth project handovers and client satisfaction.
* Maintain and strengthen relationships with customers, ensuring their systems run smoothly.
* Travel to various sites, primarily within the region, representing the company in a professional manner.
The ideal applicant will possess:
* Previous experience in commissioning, installing, or maintaining electrical or automation systems.
* Strong problem-solving skills with a hands-on approach to identifying and fixing faults.
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to train and guide customers on-site.
* A customer-focused mindset with the ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
* Ability to work independently, adapt to different working environments, and travel as needed.
The successful applicant can expect to receive:
* Competitive salary of £45,000, based on an hourly rate with overtime available (earning potential up to £70,000 with overtime).
* Company van provided for work use.
* Full-time role with a 40-hour working week (Monday to Friday, 8am - 4:30pm).
