Head of People and Culture

Our client is on an exciting journey to become a world-class regulator with a world-class team. They are currently part way into a significant investment in developing their people and culture to ensure they are fit for the future.

They are seeking a dynamic, effective, experienced, and qualified human resource professional to join us as the Head of People and Culture. In this high-profile and satisfying role, you will lead the delivery of our people plan and develop a new five-year people strategy for 2025-30.

Key Responsibilities:

* Leadership and Strategy: Provide leadership to a small HR team, combining management of the human resource functions with the development, co-production, and delivery of our new people strategy and revised people plan.

* Collaboration: Drive collaboration and relationship management with relevant internal and external stakeholders.

* Culture and Engagement: Lead initiatives on culture change, employee engagement, equality and diversity, leadership development, reward and remuneration, and succession planning.

* HR Operations: Ensure HR operations are effective, efficient, and aligned to service level agreements, including recruitment, staff training, reward strategy, employee relations, and staff well-being.

* Project Management: Lead and deliver high-profile HR change projects as part of our People Plan Programme.

* Support and Advice: Provide support and advice to the Director of Corporate Services, Senior Management Team, Chief Executive, and other key stakeholders on matters relating to people and culture.

Key Accountabilities:

* Finalise and implement a compelling People Management Strategy linked to the strategic plan.

* Drive high-performance culture and employee engagement.

* Review and improve the full employee life cycle.

* Promote diversity and inclusion in recruitment and staff development.

* Oversee staff salary scales and benefits package.

* Manage annual pay reviews and performance appraisal processes.

* Collaborate with the EDI manager to drive equality, diversity, and inclusion improvements.

* Ensure legal compliance of HR policies and operations.

* Improve HR systems and processes, utilizing technology where possible.

* Develop and produce HR data reports for internal and external stakeholders.

* Manage financial aspects of the HR department within agreed budget limits.

Essential Skills/Experience/Qualifications:

* Proven success in a senior HR role with experience influencing at CEO and Director level.

* Experience managing an HR team in a service centre setting.

* Strong relationship builder and communicator at all levels.

* CIPD qualified or equivalent.

* Excellent understanding of current employment law and HR principles.

* Experience managing budgets and project management experience (desirable).
