Senior Process Engineer
Reporting to the Process Engineering Manager
Based in: Wilton

Position overview:
As the Senior Process Engineer, you will provide technical and line leadership to the process engineering department. You will support the Process Engineering Manager to ensure organisational competence in process safety and process engineering subject matters. You will support or lead the development and implementation of strategic performance improvements project.
As the Senior Process Engineer, you will take the lead in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of our business and regulatory reporting.
In addition and not limited to, you will be the primary contact for providing technical assistance for commercial requests and input to finance. You will provide technical assistance to operations and input to wider group initiatives.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
Process Engineering
• Technical expert in the process engineering team.
• Mentor and provide guidance to ensure process engineering deliverables to the required standard.
• Lead and support the Process engineering elements within process safety, environmental and quality systems (PHRs, alarm management, Relief, SIL).
• Responsible for defining the Process Safety Information requirements for the process engineering elements.
• Develop and roll out standards, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with good process engineering practice.
• Responsible to drive the asset continuous improvement program.
• Successful completion of new and innovative projects / studies. Designing, installing, and commissioning new production improvements, including monitoring developments and troubleshooting. Provide commissioning support and leadership for newly installed items of equipment and ensure satisfactory performance ahead of takeover by the Operations Team.
• Assessing options for plant expansion or reconfiguration by developing and testing process simulation models.
• Optimising production by analysing processes and compiling de-bottleneck studies.
• Operational guidance for the development and control of variable costs.
• Lead / overview the process to improve plant operability/ control. Originate and deliver immediate and mid-term projects and lead major studies into the improvement of Utilities operations and compliance through improved use of technology and control.
• Ensure plant operational KPI’s are reviewed and monitored. Advise operations management on achievement and improvement of these indicators.
• Represent the company as a technical expert in discussions with external organisations including regulatory bodies, suppliers, potential new customers, existing customers etc.
• Responsible for ensuring the outage project worklist incorporates process engineering improvement elements.
• Identify and enable new ways of working to improve the accuracy, efficiency, and impact of the Process Engineering team.
Regulatory Compliances
• Responsible for the accurate and timely submissions for regulatory and compliance reporting. (CHPQA, EA, ISO Audit).
Commercial
• Primary contact to provide expert guidance for customer technical queries.
Business Reporting
• Ensure the accurate and timely reporting to meet GCOE requirements.
Finance and Budget
• Lead the development of asset models.
• Timely and relevant input to annual budget provided.
Qualification, Skills and Experience
• Qualified Chartered Engineer with a Science or Engineering Degree.
• Proven track record of achievement in a process engineering role within a utility’s operation or design environment.
• Strong commercial awareness and business focus.
• Strong analytical, conceptual, and strategic thinker.
• Wide experience of process plant operations, design and commissioning
• Excellent communication and influencing skills to present to management board level, key stakeholders, major customers and suppliers, external agencies and the shop floor.
• Results driven and quality focused.
