The Class 2 LGV Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of materials to and from designated locations. This includes conducting pre-journey checks, maintaining compliance with road safety regulations, and providing excellent customer service during deliveries.

Key Responsibilities

1.

Vehicle Operation:

* Operate a Class 2 vehicle safely and efficiently, ensuring compliance with all road safety and legal requirements.

* Conduct pre- and post-journey vehicle inspections to identify and report any defects.

* Maintain cleanliness and basic maintenance of the assigned vehicle.

Deliveries and Collections:

* Load and unload goods in a safe and secure manner, using manual handling equipment where necessary.

* Ensure timely and accurate deliveries to customers or designated sites as per the schedule.

* Handle delivery paperwork, ensuring all documentation is completed correctly and submitted promptly.

Compliance and Safety:

* Adhere to tachograph regulations, working time directives, and company transport policies.

* Report incidents, accidents, or near-misses promptly to the transport office.

* Follow the company’s health and safety protocols at all times.

4.

Customer Service:

* Represent the company in a professional manner, providing friendly and efficient service to customers.

* Communicate effectively with the transport office regarding delivery updates, delays, or issues.

Person Specification

Essential Qualifications:

* Valid Category C (Class 2) LGV licence.

* Up-to-date Driver CPC Card.

* Valid Digital Tachograph Card.

* 12month LGV driving experience

Experience:

* Proven experience as a Class 2 driver (1year min)

* Knowledge of vehicle loading procedures and road safety regulations.

* Excellent communication and customer service abilities.

* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

* Physically fit, with the ability to handle manual lifting tasks
