Job Title:         Estimator                               

Location:                                 Northampton

Salary:                                    up to £52k

Hours of Work:                        40 Hours Monday – Friday

Type:                                      Permanent

Start Date:                              Immediately (flexible for notice periods)

A specialist contractor with a growing reputation in the market now require an Estimator to join their busy pre-construction team.

Duties

Liaising with new and existing clients.
Liaising with supply chain members from enquiry to contract award.
Produce costings and provide consultation answer relevant queries regarding the estimate provided.
Preparing quotes and cost summaries.
To undertake any other general support and administration duties as will be required from time to time.

It is essential or preferrable that you have the following experience, qualifications or skills;

Experience as an Estimator within a Main Contractor or Residential Developer setting.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar estimating role.
Experience in doing take offs
Familiar with SMM7, NRM3 and major forms of measurement methods.
Conversant in all major forms of contract, particularly JCT.
Experience in using Microsoft Office especially Excel, or other forms of taking off and estimating software.
Good understanding of the building industry.
Ability to control numerous projects at any one time.
Able to deal with tough negotiations and pressures of fast paced environment.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to communicate with clients and colleagues.
Practical team player with a hands-on style.
Excellent written and oral skills.
Attention to detail.
