Are you an experienced CNC Turner Machinist seeking an exciting opportunity with a world-leading company? Major Recruitment is currently hiring CNC Turner Machinists to join our esteemed client based in Burnley.

As a CNC Machinist, you will play a pivotal role in our manufacturing process. Your primary responsibilities will include setting up tools, operating CNC machinery, ensuring the quality of components, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives. You will work alongside a dedicated team, adhering to safety protocols and always maintaining product traceability.

Details for CNC Machinist:

Permanent position
Night shift - 10:00pm and 7:30am Monday to Thursday (38 hours a week)
Immediate starts available for the right person.
£14.98ph with an additional £4.44 per hour night shift rate

Key Responsibilities:

Set up tools and load materials onto CNC machines.
Perform machining of components with precision and efficiency.
Utilise inspection equipment to ensure components meet drawing specifications.
Interpret engineering drawings accurately.
Contribute actively to team dynamics and continuous improvement efforts.
Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
Handle weights up to 25kg manually.
Complete necessary quality documentation.
Utilize computer equipment for data purposes.
Implement lean theory and 5S principles.

Required Skills and Abilities:

Ability to work independently or as part of a team with minimal supervision.
Proficiency in operating computer equipment for data management.
Strong comprehension of engineering drawings and quality plans.
Skilled in using various measuring equipment.
Methodical approach to work systems and adherence to established standards.
Capacity to make informed decisions within designated parameters.
Excellent organisational and time management skills.
Effective verbal communication and listening abilities.
Positive attitude and ability to represent the company positively.
Capability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.

Experience and Knowledge:

Experience working with stainless steels and programming CNC controls (Fanuc/Okuma/Mazak).
Proficiency in setting up, operating, and adjusting tool and fixture offsets on CNC machines.
Familiarity with machining stainless steels to tight tolerances.
Prior experience working with various forms of stainless steels (e.g., billet, castings, pressings) is advantageous.

Qualifications:

Time-served engineer or equivalent qualification.
