Job Purpose

Engaged in the ongoing management of projects as agreed by the Partner in accordance with the project plan. Acting as planning practitioner as well as supporting the Partner in their role within the team and as required within the department.

Key Responsibilities

Conducting and managing planning activities.
Day-to-day management of projects, including project planning, reviews, WIP/invoicing, and debts.
Managing projects to meet agreed client requirements and deadlines in line with the QA system.
Ensuring quality control of project outputs in accordance with the approved QA system, including preparing project plans and fee agreements.
Contributing to the development and management of the wider business, including work-winning and marketing.
Supporting client management for the Partner.
Representing clients at public meetings.
Producing strong professional reports.
Managing immediate staff, including timesheets, holidays, CPD, and training.
Supervising junior staff members.
Maintaining a thorough technical knowledge in town planning and associated expertise.
Maintaining professional membership with the Royal Town Planning Institute.
Participating in continuing professional development through training courses, internal CPD sessions, and wider reading.

Managing projects.
Maintaining client relationships concerning project work.
Ensuring the quality of advice and deliverables meets required standards.

Qualifications and Skills

Chartered RTPI membership.
Ability to build and manage new and existing client relationships.
Proven track record demonstrating a high level of competence and breadth of expertise.
Business development skills, including the ability to secure new business.
Management of team workloads and control of profitability.
Responsibility for the direction and performance of a significant business area.
