Full Job Description – Nursery Chefs

We are currently looking for a Nursery Chef/Cook looking to find work in a nursery kitchen based in Surrey.

Salary: £18,500 - £24,000

Job type: Full time 4/5 days (40 hours pw)

We are looking for a Level 3 and up nursery chef to work in the Warlingham area (Surrey).

About the role:

* Being main point of contact in the kitchen

* Preparing meals and snacks for 0-4 age group

* Following health and safety and adhering to requirements from the nursery

* Able to carry out risk assessments, and keep records as part of good food safety, allergen, and hygiene practices

* Being co-operative, open and approachable with adults and children, and behave as a positive role model

* Encourage and promote healthy eating, and support staff in helping children learn about what they eat and how it can make them feel

* A genuine desire to see children eat with a happy face and hopefully an empty plate!

Candidates must:

* Hold a clean and valid DBS before starting work.

* Be highly organised

* Maintain hygiene standards

* Have a Level 3 or up qualification as a check will be conducted

* Be able to provide two references from past employment

* Have Food Hygiene and Safety certificates

* Have knowledge and awareness of dietary requirements allergies and food intolerances

* Have worked in a school/nursery

Successful Applicants will be subject to an initial telephone interview, followed by a virtual call and compliance check.

Skills / Qualifications:

* Level 2 or above in Catering / Food Hygiene or equivalent
