Principal Electrical Engineer
Location: Basingstoke
Negotiable Salary
Permanent Staff, Hybrid

A global leading energy company is looking for a Principal Electrical Engineer to join their Electrical Engineering team in Basingstoke on a permanent staff basis. This is a key leadership role where you will provide technical and organisational leadership across a wide range of projects, including studies, design, troubleshooting, commissioning, and decommissioning. As a Principal Electrical Engineer, you will manage project teams and work activities to ensure goals are met on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities: Principal Electrical Engineer

- Lead electrical engineering activities for various projects and studies.

- Competently engineer electrical systems following procedures and plans.

- Supervise design teams to ensure technical standards and project timelines are met.

- Conduct short-term visits to operational sites and global and regional offices.

- Manage discipline interfaces, coordinate teams, and expedite project workflows.

- Prepare man-hour estimates and project planning for proposals.

- Critically review and improve business technical standards and procedures.

- Ensure compliance with new legislation affecting plant design and safety.

Key Requirements: Principal Electrical Engineer

- Extensive leadership experience in electrical engineering, preferably in upstream Oil & Gas.

- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.

- Expertise in electrical engineering (Power Generation, Distribution, Transmission).

- Experience in Concept, Basic/FEED, and Detail Engineering for Oil & Gas (onshore/offshore).

- Skilled in power system studies, electrical design, and technical specifications.

- Proficiency in IEC standards, best practices, and ETAP software.

- Experience with Floating Units and offshore work certifications are desirable.

- Chartered Engineer status and MEng qualification preferred.
