Our client has an opportunity for experienced Project Engineer to join them on an initial 6-month contract. The Project Engineer will be responsible for ensuring that assigned activities are appropriately coordinated, managed and reported.

Role: Project Engineer
Location: Bristol
Shifts: Standard days / Hybrid / Minimum 3 days per week in the office
IR35 Status: Inside
Security Clearance: SC required
Hourly Rate: Discussed on Application
Contract: Initially 6-months with the potential to extend subject to programme demand

Responsibilities:

Providing coordination to engineering teams representing multiple skill areas, which may include internal and external resources and customers.
Developing and maintaining Supplier Statements of Work (SSOWs) to satisfy current and emerging programme requirements.
Championing systems engineering best practice in the management of the programme requirements hierarchy, ensuring that requirements are of a good quality with an associated compliance verification strategy, are allocated appropriately, and have adequately traceability between the different requirement tiers.
Working with programme leadership to obtain required approvals to ensure business continuity for tasks relating to the proposed delivery of the VL contracted service.
Coordinating project proposal activities and ensuring the engineering leadership team are aware of proposal gate milestones and objectives.
Identifying metrics and reporting to programme leadership to provide a status of functional performance.
Comparing actual results to baseline plans to assess project performance, efficiencies, productivity and lessons learned.
Planning, identifying, and coordinating resources required to support the programme through the management of functional resource requirements and reporting into status reviews.
Responding to changes to requirements, assessing the impact and negotiating proposed changes to determine modifications to deliverables, resources, costs and schedules.
Providing technical coordination for the development and execution of the project deliverables.
The tailoring and application of engineering initiatives, best practices and quality processes.
Contributing to Continuous Improvement.
Risk, Issues and Opportunities management.
Qualifications and skills required:

A Degree level (or equivalent) qualification in Engineering, Systems Engineering, or an engineering related field, with experience in requirements management for systems and / or services.
Experience in Project Planning and Management; Excellent SE knowledge and skills, Good IT skills; Excellent Customer Facing Skills.
Knowledge of the Chinook and/or Apache rotorcraft platforms.
Registration with the Engineering Council as an Incorporated or Chartered Engineer (IEng or CEng), or be able to demonstrate the ability to work towards IEng/CEng.
