JOB- Design Manager
LOCATION- York
TERM- Permanent
SALARY- £50,000 to £60,000 per annum (plus benefits)

Premier Engineering is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Mechanical Design Manager to join our client’s team in York. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a talented design team in developing innovative solutions for a wide range of engineering projects.

The Mechanical Design Manager will ideally have the following attributes:

Extensive experience in mechanical design within a manufacturing or engineering environment
A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (BEng, MEng, or equivalent)
Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar)
Strong understanding of design for manufacturing (DFM) and assembly (DFA) principles
Experience in managing and mentoring a team of engineers
Excellent project management and leadership skills
Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory requirements
Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detailThe Mechanical Design Manager role will involve:

Leading and managing the mechanical design team to deliver high-quality designs on time and within budget
Overseeing the development of 3D models, drawings, and technical documentation
Ensuring designs meet customer requirements, industry standards, and safety regulations
Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including production, R&D, and quality assurance
Managing multiple projects simultaneously and allocating resources effectively
Driving innovation and continuous improvement within the design process
Providing technical guidance and mentorship to team members
