Job Title: Registered Care Manager
Location: Barking, IG11
Salary: £50,000 per annum
Working Hours: 40 hours per week

Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Registered Service Manager to manage a residential care home for adults with learning disabilities. In this role, you’ll be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations, ensuring high-quality care is delivered, managing and supporting staff, and making sure the service complies with CQC standards. While you will report to the Operations Director, you’ll be expected to take full responsibility for running the service.

Key Responsibilities:
• Leadership & Staff Management: Oversee the daily running of the service, ensuring the staff are well-trained, motivated, and deployed effectively. This includes recruitment, supervision, staff training, and performance reviews, particularly for senior team members.
• Compliance & Regulations: Ensure the service is fully compliant with all relevant legislation, including the Health & Social Care Act 2008, Health and Safety regulations, and the General Social Care Council (GSCC) standards.
• Quality Care & Service Delivery: Ensure that all service users receive the highest standard of care. You’ll be responsible for developing care plans and overseeing the implementation of care and support services, while ensuring the service meets CQC standards.
• Budget & Resource Management: Manage the service’s budget and petty cash, and ensure that resources are allocated efficiently. You’ll also be responsible for maintaining effective administrative and record-keeping systems.
• Customer Service & Stakeholder Engagement: Keep a strong focus on customer service, ensuring the needs of service users and their families or carers are met. You’ll build and maintain good relationships with families, carers, and other professionals involved in the service.
• Health & Safety: Ensure the safety and well-being of both staff and service users, maintaining a clean, safe environment that meets regulatory standards.

Key Requirements:
• At least 3 years’ recent experience managing a Residential Care Home within a Learning Disability (LD) service.
• Hands-on manager who is proactive and committed to delivering a high standard of care.
• Full responsibility for the service, ensuring all aspects are managed effectively.
• This is a fully in-service role – there are no hybrid working options.
• Ability to market the service and grow its visibility in the community.
• Proven track record of ensuring compliance with CQC standards.
• The ideal candidate should live within a 15-mile radius of IG11.

Essential Qualifications & Experience:
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a care home management role within a learning disability (LD) service.
• Management qualifications, such as Health & Social Care Level 4 NVQ (or equivalent), RMA, ILM, or similar.
• Experience in managing challenging behaviours and supporting individuals with learning disabilities.
• Ability to manage budgets and resources effectively.
• Hands-on management style, working closely with both staff and service users.
• Ability to market the service and ensure its growth and success.
• Knowledge of CQC standards and how to maintain compliance.
