Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Medical Receptionist to join our team on a temporary basis for 6 months, starting as soon as possible. The ideal candidate will be available to work Monday to Friday, either part-time or full-time, with flexibility around hours. The role requires proficiency with EMIS Web, a strong understanding of medical administrative procedures, and excellent communication skills.
As the first point of contact for patients, you will play a crucial role in delivering a high standard of customer service, both in person and over the phone.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reception Duties
- Greet patients and visitors in a professional and friendly manner.
- Answer phone calls and manage inquiries or direct calls to the appropriate department.
- Book, amend, and manage patient appointments using **EMIS Web**.
- Handle patient queries and provide relevant information or guidance as required.
- Process and manage incoming and outgoing mail, emails, and faxes.
- Administrative Duties:
- Maintain patient records and update information using **EMIS Web**.
- Assist with patient registrations, new referrals, and issuing repeat prescriptions.
- Process medical forms, letters, and documentation as required.
- Organize and maintain a tidy and efficient reception area.
- Ensure all patient records and information are handled confidentially, following data protection protocols.
- Clinical Support:
- Liaise with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure smooth patient flow.
- Prepare and manage patient files for clinics.
- Support in basic administrative tasks related to patient care, such as collecting and processing test results.
- Other Tasks:
- Handle any ad-hoc duties as required to support the practice's daily operations.
Requirements:
- EMIS Web experience is essential
- Previous experience as a medical receptionist or in a similar healthcare administrative role.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-focused approach.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Proficient with MS Office and general computer literacy.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to data protection guidelines.
