A popular and well-run gym in Ely is seeking Health and Fitness Instructors to ensure its' members health and fitness goals are delivered and that the gym is safe and clean to use. The Fitness Instructor will have minimum level 2 gym instruction qualifications recognised by CIMSPA and have excellent customer service skills.

The Health and Fitness Instructor will need to know how to deliver safe and effective group exercise classes. As you will be interacting with members all day, you will need to be outgoing, energetic, observant and service-driven. Part of the role is showing people around the club and selling membership, so being a good chatty person is a real plus.

Additional pay given for teaching or PT done.

Key Responsibilities:

* Complete basic health and medical screenings

* Lead inductions and ‘how-to’ sessions for new members

* Implement initial exercise programme

* Provide fitness testing

* Interact with members – ‘walking the floor’

* Promote classes, services and promotions

* Offer technique advice and exercise alternatives

* Teach classes (qualification dependent)

* Create a safe environment for gym goers

* Open & close facilities

* Carry out general equipment cleaning and sanitation

* Carry out basic equipment maintenance, including regular water tests for the pool and jacuzzi

Shifts: 7.5-hour pattern. Most gym instructors tend to work on shift patterns, which provides flexibility, but can also mean early mornings and late nights. There is also weekend availability.

Knowledge, skills and qualifications:

Essential:

* Level 2 Gym Instructor qualifications recognised by CIMSPA

* Strong customer service skills

* Is outgoing, energetic, observant and service-driven

Desirables:

* Anatomy & Physiology Certification

* Experience creating a programme for clients/members

* Practical experience working or training in a gym environment

* A ‘First Aid at Work’ qualification

Salary: £19,500 - £23,810 + additional pay for teaching or PT done
