Are you an experienced Production Planner looking for a new challenge?

A Production Planner is required to join a leading innovator in the manufacturing space. Through continued research and development, they continue to innovate with the highest skill and desire to answer calls to present industry needs, as well as the demands of new industries and application.

Reports to: Senior Production Planner

Other Benefits: Contributory pension scheme, 25 days holiday

Hours: 39 per week

7.30am until 4pm Monday - Thursday

7.30am until 3pm Friday

Location: Cleckheaton

Purpose

The purpose of this role is to provide a link between production, planning and other departments in order to ensure that product is manufactured efficiently and effectively to agreed deadlines.

To lead projects to improve processes and systems in the Planning department.

To support activities to maintain and improve QAD data accuracy.

To support QAD and System based projects.

Responsibilities

* To be responsible for expediting all site products, liaising with production, branding and despatch.

* Advise Sales of any issues with orders which may delay the shipment from the promised date.

* Liaise with all other departments impacting on production.

* To identify opportunities to improve Production and Planning processes and lead projects to develop solutions through to implementation

* To document Planning related processes.

* To support QAD and System based projects and train others on QAD systems and processes.

Key Planning Tasks

* Manage the Planning Campaign documents for Site

* Jointing, Sigma,Them815

* Expediting, Communication and feedback to Customer Services for Site

* Quotes, Leadtimes, Order Status

* Reviewing and Maintaining Safety Stocks

* Run reports for the production meetings (expediting report and capacity planning)

* Approve planned stock orders for Site products

* Approve stock orders for finished goods

* Work with Management to avoid / minimise any disruptions to production

* Advise the Despatch Manager of the status of orders with imminent promised dates, or any forward orders which may be of concern.

* Liaise with Sales/ Despatch regarding any quantity changes due to the process

* Liase with Sales for any WO/SO amendments

* Run MRP daily to review that short term deliveries

* Run through MRP report with Dispatch to confirm status of days deliveries

* Assist when required to move finished items into dispatch for delivery

* Monitor outsourced items and escalate potential late deliveries

* Identify bottlenecks and potential late deliveries and escalate them to the relevant Team Leader/Production Managers if required.

* Review the daily reports and Capacity plans to identify forward load issues on large value orders

* Checking upcoming finished goods stock requirements for any potential shortfalls and advising team leaders/ purchasing

* Resolving queries arising from work orders

* Providing operations reports.

* Provide cover and support across the Planning Team during holiday/absence periods

* Other duties within the scope of the incumbent which are deemed necessary by the business in order to effectively complete the job.

Stocks - Assist in the control and co-ordination of Outsourced Goods and Raw Materials

Supervision - Provide cover for Production Supervision as per business requirements (any necessary training required for this will be provided).

Health and Safety / Housekeeping - Comply with Company Health & Safety Policy and legislation.

Person Specification – Production Planning Engineer

The successful candidate will either have some supervisory / production planning experience or significant experience of working in a manufacturing environment, ideally in engineering.

The ideal candidate will have appropriate supervisory training qualifications such as NEBS Management, NVQ Level 3 in Supervisory Management or have taken part in the Flexitallic Internal Supervisory Training Course. They must be willing to work towards such qualifications if not already held.

In addition, the successful applicant will be willing to undertake appropriate training with regard to the planning aspect of this role.

Must have good communication skills and the ability to deal with people from all levels of the Company. An excellent telephone manner would also be beneficial.

Must be able to motivate others and assist in creating a team working environment.

Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks.

Must be flexible enough to move quickly from one task to another.

Ability to work to deadlines accurately

The successful candidate must have initiative and be self motivated in order to work without close supervision where necessary.

Must be computer literate with experience of Microsoft Excel.
