About the role:
Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with special educational needs? Do you have the skills and patience to work with students exhibiting challenging behaviours, such as running or screaming? Join a vibrant and inclusive primary school in Ealing as an SEN Teaching Assistant and help create a supportive and engaging environment for young learners. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you’ll work one-on-one with a student who exhibits challenging behaviours. You’ll be instrumental in helping them navigate their day, manage emotions, and engage in learning. Using patience, empathy, and effective strategies, you’ll support their development in both academic and social settings.
Application Requirements:
• Experience working with students exhibiting challenging behaviours (preferred).
• A calm, patient, and resilient attitude.
• Knowledge of behavioural management strategies.
• A strong understanding of SEN and inclusion in UK schools.
• Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant Certificate or equivalent).
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide 1:1 support for a student with challenging behaviours.
• Implement tailored strategies to help manage behaviours such as running or screaming.
• Build a strong rapport with the student to foster trust and confidence.
• Collaborate with teachers, SENCO, and other staff to create an individualised education plan.
• Assist in creating an inclusive and positive classroom environment.
• Monitor and report progress, adapting approaches as needed.
