Senior ICU Nurse

We are working with one of our private clients who are looking to recruit a Senior Staff Nurse to join their dynamic ICU team, with a competitive salary range on offer up to £55,000 depending upon experience.

This is a Monday-Sunday, Days, Nights and Weekends role.

Senior ICU Nurse

The Intensive Care Senior Staff Nurse will be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care of patients requiring level 2 and 3 care and are expected to be able to provide general and specialised direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organisation.

What will your duties include:

* Suitable experience as an ICU Senior Staff Nurse

* Provide direct nursing care to patients requiring level 2&3 care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols.

* Prioritise nursing care, recognize deterioration in patient’s condition and escalates to the senior nursing team /clinicians immediately.

* Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.

* Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.

What they need from you:

* Current nursing registration (First Level) through the Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC) required, with no restrictions to practice

* Must be willing to undertake relevant post-registration courses

* Demonstrable clinical experience in the field of high acuity critically-ill adults with invasive lines, mechanical ventilation, continuous and intermittent hemodialysis, and vasoactive intravenous medications in a hospital setting.

* Wide range of experience working in critical care specialties including cardiac and cardiothoracic, neurosurgery, renal, and GI surgery.

* Completed 60 credits Adult Critical Care/Intensive Care Course or equivalent & Completed Step 1 Critical Care Competencies Course
