Job Opportunity: Drylining Estimator - Sheffield

Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

Are you an experienced estimator with a strong background in drylining, partition walls, and plastering? Do you thrive on accurately costing projects and contributing to successful bids? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join a well-established and growing construction company based in Sheffield.

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Drylining Estimator to play a key role in our commercial team. Your primary responsibility will be to accurately estimate the costs associated with a variety of projects, with a particular focus on our core expertise: drylining, partition wall systems, and plastering.

Key Responsibilities:

Thoroughly analyse tender documentation, drawings, and specifications to understand project requirements.
Accurately calculate material quantities, labour costs, and any associated expenses specifically related to drylining, partition wall installations, and plastering works.
Obtain competitive quotations from suppliers and subcontractors for relevant materials and services.
Prepare detailed and competitive cost estimates and proposals.
Liaise effectively with clients, contractors, and internal teams to clarify project details and address queries.
Maintain accurate records of estimates, pricing, and project information.
Contribute to value engineering exercises to optimise project costs.
Assist in the handover of successful bids to the project delivery team.
Stay up-to-date with industry best practices, new materials, and pricing trends within the dry lining and plastering sectors.

Essential Requirements:

Proven experience as an estimator within the construction industry.
Extensive and demonstrable experience in estimating costs specifically for drylining, various partition wall systems, and plastering works.
A strong understanding of different drylining materials, plastering techniques, and partition wall construction methods.
Excellent numeracy and analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.
Proficiency in using estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Strong communication and negotiation skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet deadlines.
A proactive and problem-solving approach.
