We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school in Cheshire on a permanent basis. This school provides a supportive environment for children with an autism diagnosis aged 7-16, helping them thrive both academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities of a Teaching Assistant:

Work closely with a student on a 1:1 basis, providing tailored support to meet their individual needs
Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering lessons, adapting resources to suit the learning style of the student
Foster a safe, supportive, and encouraging environment, building trust with the student and promoting their independence
Monitor and assess the student's progress, feeding back to teachers and other professionals to ensure continuous development
Support the student's social and emotional development, helping them engage with peers and school activities
Implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behavioural strategies, as directed by the SENCORequirements of a Teaching Assistant:

Experience working with children with autism or special educational needs (SEN) is essential
Ability to work patiently and sensitively with students who have varied learning needs
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Understanding of autism and its impact on learning and behaviour
A flexible and proactive approach to problem-solving
