A unique and environmentally friendly business who are successfully producing and distributing products to eradicate plastic pollution are seeking a Mid Senior Mechanical Engineer to joint their team. Based in East London, you will have the opportunity to work with a team of like-minded designers, engineers and scientists. As a Mid Senior Mechanical Engineer will you be responsible for:

Designing and engineering new and innovative ways to create compostable packaging through industrial conversion processes which will include methods of blow moulding, injection moulding and extrusion
Supporting the project journey from start to finish with proof of concept to launching at large scales with well-known brands
Produce and present engineering proposals and feasibility results to internal and external stakeholders
Documentation of mechanical engineering specifications
Design and produce prototypes of new packaging innovations thought rapid tooling and prototyping techniques such as 3D printing and machining
Negotiate and implement Design for Manufacture techniques with vendors to transition designs from prototype to mass productionTo be successful as a Mid Senior Mechanical Engineer you will have:

A degree in Mechanical Engineering or Product Design and proven industry experience within packaging or FMCG
Experience with moulded component design and DFM
A hands-on approach to engineering and prototyping with some experience in a workshop environment operating industrial equipment such as metalworking machines and/or polymer processing
Strong practical knowledge of injection moulding, blow moulding and tool design
Strong 3D and CAD skills. Experience working in Solidworks would be advantageousIn return you will receive an excellent benefits package which includes:
