The role
Due to expansion, we have an opportunity for Technical Quality Assistant within our factory in Southampton SO19. The role provides technical support to production and sales departments.
Responsibilities
1. Managing non-conformances (raising and investigation of customer complaints; communication with customers, accounts managers and directors).
2. Managing customer returns (logistics, film disposition and crediting).
3. Performing QC tests for specific customer references & trials.
4. Assisting in managing quarantined material (investigating, gathering samples & photo evidence, communicating with accounts managers, customer services and directors).
5. Assist in report issues with post-consumer waste or NGR usage with production.
6. Assist in the investigation of no-conforming material back to the original supplier.
7. Performing traceability exercises & product recalls.
8. Participate in resin, masterbatch, tape, ink etc., trials (collecting data).
9. Managing raw material database (MFI’s, densities etc).
10. Producing raw material and specification specific data sheets.
11. Producing certificate of analysis reports for customers.
12. Assist with the anilox refurbishment programme.
13. Observe the company’s terms and conditions of employment and to ensure company procedures are being adhered to at all times.
14. Work to the company’s data protection and clear desk policy.
15. Perform any other reasonable instructions as and when required.
16. Raising new specifications.
17. Amending, creating & managing existing specifications (updating manufacturing parameters, locking/unlocking specs, packaging instructions etc.).
18. Creating blown film extrusion product codes.
19. Advising the pre-press department on which standard (e.g.: sample, lay sheet etc) to colour match from
20. Complete customer questionnaires.
21. Will assist in the absence of the reprographic technician.
22. Will assist in the ordering/replacing of existing printing plates.
23. Help manage completed job cards and retained sample boxes with the extrusion and print quality control technicians.
24. Step into the role of Extrusion Quality control Technician when needed.
Experience
* Previous experience in a technical or quality assurance role is preferred.
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data effectively.
* Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to tasks.
* Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
* Good communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential for effective collaboration with colleagues.
