Job Title: Estates Mechanical Plumber Technician

Salary: £40,000 per annum
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Commercial Mechanical/Plumber Technician with a strong background in installation and maintenance tasks within industrial or commercial environments. This full-time position offers a competitive salary and requires candidates to have at least 4 years of post-qualified experience in plumbing/heating reactive maintenance. The successful candidate will be a team player, possess a professional demeanor, and have excellent communication skills. The role operates on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern, joining an established team of technical and fabric staff covering maintenance services across the estate.
Principal Duties:
* Work in accordance with Mechanical HTMs for water systems, statutory regulations, legionella regulations, and Clinic policies.
* Ensure all work is carried out safely following appropriate risk assessments.
* Undertake essential repair works and general maintenance activities as requested by management.
* Perform helpdesk repair works as directed by shift leaders.
* Carry out planned preventative maintenance inspections per Clinic procedures.
* Undertake technical fault finding on complex mechanical systems and equipment.
* Follow detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and all relevant regulations.
* Ensure materials used in healthcare are safe, appropriate, and WRAS approved.
* Work overtime as required for emergency repairs.
* Be a member of the Clinic’s emergency team for fire, security, and lift entrapments.
* Inspect, maintain, and install equipment, plant, and systems throughout the Clinic.
* Perform proactive maintenance, including disinfection of clinical hand wash basins taps, unblocking internal water pipes and manholes, and other Mechanical Planned Preventative Maintenance tasks.
General Duties:
* Ensure personal health and safety and that of other workers by being aware of surroundings and hazards.
* Abide by Clinic policies, including health and safety and fire procedures.
* Meet mandatory training and continuous professional development requirements relevant to the role.
* Maintain confidentiality of patient records, employee information, and business information per department procedures and data protection policies.
* Attend department team meetings and other meetings as appropriate.
* Utilize the Clinic’s intranet system and email structure for support.
* Attend work on rest days if necessary to cover sickness, training courses, or other works that could adversely affect service if staffing levels are not maintained.
* Travel and overnight stays may be required occasionally for courses, symposiums, or to assess new plant equipment.
