About the Project

Key Responsibilities
The Mechanical Engineer will play a vital role in ensuring the successful design, implementation, and maintenance of key mechanical systems. Responsibilities include:
Project Coordination and Management
Collaborate with project managers, architects, and contractors to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems.Oversee the installation and commissioning of sprinkler and flue systems to ensure compliance with project specifications and safety standards.Manage timelines and budgets for assigned mechanical works, ensuring milestones are met effectively
System Design and Analysis
Provide technical input for the design and optimization of sprinkler and flue systems
Conduct load calculations, material selection, and system simulations to ensure high performance and energy efficiency.
Liaise with design consultants to verify that designs meet regulatory and operational requirements.
Quality Assurance and Compliance
Perform inspections and audits during construction phases to ensure adherence to building codes and project standards.
Ensure compliance with fire safety regulations, HVAC standards, and environmental guidelines for all mechanical installations.
Problem Solving and Innovation
Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to sprinkler and flue systems.
Identify opportunities for innovation and cost-saving initiatives in system design and construction methods.
Documentation and Reporting
Maintain accurate records of system designs, testing procedures, and maintenance schedules.
Provide regular updates and detailed reports to stakeholders on project progress and system performance.
Qualifications and Experience
Essential:
A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
At least 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering within the construction industry.
Proven expertise in sprinkler systems, flue systems, or similar building services.
Familiarity with industry standards and regulations such as BS EN 12845 (SprinklerSystems) and UK building codes.
Proficiency in using relevant software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, or similar) for design and analysis.
Desirable:
Membership in a professional body such as IMechE or CIBSE.
Experience with high-tech or large-scale construction projects.
Strong understanding of sustainability and energy-efficient system design.
