Overview

Build Maintain Recruit is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join a rapidly growing, award-winning MEP Consultancy based in Plymouth. The ideal candidate will lead and contribute to a range of projects spanning commercial, industrial, and residential sectors, focusing on mechanical HVAC design. Main Duties

Project Leadership: Lead design and development for mechanical HVAC systems across various projects.

Design Production: Create detailed mechanical designs, schematics, and layouts using AutoCAD, Revit, or similar software.

Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all designs comply with UK regulations and safety standards.

Team Collaboration: Work alongside architects, electrical engineers, and contractors to meet project goals on time and within budget.

Mentorship: Provide guidance and technical support to junior team members, promoting professional growth.

Candidate Requirements

5-10 years of experience in mechanical design engineering, particularly in HVAC services.

Proficiency with design software, such as AutoCAD and Revit.

In-depth knowledge of UK building regulations.

Strong project management skills and ability to meet tight deadlines.

Excellent communication and team leadership capabilities.

Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline.

Chartered status (or working towards it) is a strong advantage.
