GPW is working with a cutting edge, international high tech company to recruit a highly motivated Safety, Health & Environmental Officer (SHE) to lead the delivery of SHE activities while supporting sustainability and communication initiatives. This critical role requires an experienced professional capable of driving safety and environmental excellence across the organization. Please note that qualifying for DV (Developed Vetting) security clearance is a must for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

* SHE Management: The SHE Officer will develop, review, and implement SHE management processes and procedures.

* Group Coordination: They will liaise with and coordinate the implementation of Group initiatives with ETC SHE Managers.

* Strategic Planning: The role involves developing and delivering the annual SHE strategic plan, and preparing and presenting regular SHE updates to the Management Team and at MTM & ECF meetings.

* Safety Documentation: The SHE Officer will review and maintain Safety Instructions, Safety Work Instructions, and Risk Assessments, as well as approve Contractor Risk Assessments/Method Statements.

* Dosimetry & Radiation: Manage, monitor, and update dosimetry and radiation requirements.

* Incident Management: Ensure that all SHE incidents are reported, investigated, and that lessons learned are effectively adopted and shared.

* SHE Activities: The role includes delivering various SHE activities, such as maintaining legislative regulatory licenses, providing safety training and inductions, coordinating quarterly SHERC meetings, and promoting 5S practices.

* FM Coordination: Coordinate weekly/monthly testing, manage building log books and DSE assessments, liaise with FM providers and site tenants, raise FM job cards, and escort contractors.

* Building Maintenance: Oversee the U6 Building and Infrastructure Maintenance Process, including checks and testing for fire alarms, annual muster, lone worker equipment, defibrillator and first aid kits.

* Compliance: Act as the focal point for all internal and external personnel and agencies relating to SHE, and maintain compliance with the Environmental Agency ESOS Assessment process.

Experience & Qualifications:

* Experience: Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role within a medium-sized company.

* Education: Good secondary education to at least A Level.

* Certification: NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety, with opportunities for further development.

* Skills: Experience working within a regulated and documented safety management system, strong project management, planning, and organizational skills, and a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and data capture systems.

* Attributes: A forward-thinking and confident individual who is proactive in identifying and implementing change, with excellent communication and influencing skills.

* Security Clearance: Must qualify for DV (Developed Vetting) security clearance.
