Position: Quantity Surveyor – Residential Developer (Site-Based)

Location: Bermondsey, London

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Quantity Surveyor to join our clients commercial team to work on a major residential development in Bermondsey, London. The project comprises 1,400 residential units, with a primary focus on managing Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) and facade packages.

This is a site-based role where you will work closely with the project teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to oversee the financial and contractual aspects of the M&E and facade works. You will manage costs, ensure value for money, monitor progress, and ensure that the project is delivered on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

* Manage the M&E and facade packages from varying stages, ensuring costs are controlled and within budget.

* Collaborate with the project management team to develop accurate cost estimates, forecasts, and budgets for the M&E and facade works.

* Prepare and manage contract documents, including tendering, procurement, and sub-contract management.

* Regularly liaise with contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth project progression and resolve any issues promptly.

* Monitor and report on project costs, preparing monthly cost reports and valuations.

* Conduct site visits to ensure work is being completed to the required standards and within budget.

* Identify cost-saving opportunities and risk mitigation strategies.

* Review and assess variations, claims, and other contractual matters.

Qualifications & Experience:

* Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the residential construction sector, specifically managing M&E and facade packages.

* Strong knowledge of construction contracts and procurement processes.

* Ability to manage multiple packages and coordinate with various stakeholders on-site.

* Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
