About the Role:

The London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Child Protection Chair to join their Safeguarding, Review, and Quality Assurance Team. This role offers a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety and well-being of children within the borough. If you have a strong background in child protection and a commitment to upholding the highest standards of safeguarding, this position is ideal for you.

Key Responsibilities:

Chair child protection conferences, ensuring that all decisions are made in the best interests of the child.

Monitor and review child protection plans to ensure they are effective and responsive to the needs of the child.

Provide expert guidance and support to social workers and other professionals involved in safeguarding children.

Ensure that the views of children, families, and carers are central to the decision-making process.

Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of conferences and decisions, in line with statutory requirements.

Work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams to promote best practices in safeguarding.

Contribute to the continuous improvement of safeguarding services within the borough.

Requirements:

A recognised Social Work qualification (Degree/Diploma).

Current registration with Social Work England.

Extensive experience in child protection, including chairing complex meetings and conferences.

Strong understanding of safeguarding legislation, policies, and procedures.

Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.

Ability to work independently and manage a demanding workload.
