Hello,

My client in Chelmsford is currently in need of a Production Engineer due to expansion.

Role Purpose:

You will be responsible for interpreting part blueprints, the development of work holding fixturing and the development and set up of part-specific programming on various CNC machines.

Role Specifics:

Detail any relevant KPI’s and role specifics

● Develop and implement CNC programs based on engineering drawings and specifications using the latest CAM software (SimensNXl).

● Determine the manufacturing process of a new product from the fixture/work holding stage through to the finished product.

● Prove out programmes to production status

● Resolve post-processor issues, editing and proving the programs and planning manufacturing methods and operating procedures.

● Generate toolpath design, model preparation and continuous improvements within CAM & CNC.

● Advise on best practices for tooling, design concepts of fixtures or work holding components, and machining strategies

● Accurately provide quotes to our sales team, estimating CAM programming, machine setup and machining run times, job-specific tooling costs, and additional post processes

. ● Ensure that the correct tooling is available to complete a job, and order all necessary consumables throughout the production process when required

● Offer guidance on potential design changes to aid the manufacturability of components.

● Mentor/train junior team members

● Review program execution to identify opportunities for improvements to products and processes.

Essential:

● Ability to work at speed without compromising accuracy & detail.

● Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

● 3D drawing/programming experience.

● Experience of using CAD/CAM software in a similar role in a manufacturing, engineering-related environment.

● Extensive experience of both on and offline programming of CNC machines.

● Proven experience of reading and interpreting manufacturing drawings.

● Engineering HNC/HND (or equivalent experience)

Salary:£51,700
