About the Role:
This is a fantastic opportunity for a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to work across mainstream and SEN schools in Tower Hamlets. You will play a vital role in supporting students with diverse needs, including those with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health), and other learning difficulties.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide tailored 1-to-1 and small group support to students with additional needs in both mainstream and SEN settings.
* Assist teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons, ensuring that all students can access the curriculum.
* Implement strategies to support students with learning, emotional, and behavioral challenges.
* Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment where students feel safe, supported, and valued.
* Help to prepare and adapt learning resources to meet individual student needs.
* Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other support staff to monitor and assess student progress.
* Support with classroom management and behavior, using de-escalation techniques where necessary.
* Contribute to school life by participating in extracurricular activities and events.
Requirements:
* Experience working with children or young people, particularly those with SEN, is highly desirable.
* A genuine passion for working with students with additional needs and a commitment to their development.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students and staff.
* Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
* Flexibility to work across both mainstream and SEN school settings.
* Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
* Relevant qualifications, such as a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant certificate, are desirable but not essential.
