The Role – English SEMH Teacher

I am recruiting for a dedicated and passionate English SEMH Teacher to join a specialist SEMH school in Hackney from September 2025. As an English SEMH Teacher you will be responsible for teaching small classes of secondary-aged students who have SEMH needs and may also have ASD, ADHD, or other additional needs. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching English to KS3 and KS4, strong behaviour management skills, and a nurturing approach to help students engage in learning and achieve their potential. The ideal English SEMH Teacher will have a QTS/QTLS qualification, with experience teaching English to KS3 and KS4, someone who has a strong understanding of SEMH, trauma-informed practice, and de-escalation strategies. Mainstream teachers with a passion for SEMH and experience working with challenging behaviour will also be considered.
