Site Manager £50000-£60000 + Cat A car Allowance

Our client is seeking experienced Site Managers with an Electrical Engineering background and experience working on National Grid Electricity Substations. The successful candidate will work flexibly from home, the office, or customer sites, depending on work requirements. Responsibilities include managing all site-related aspects of delivering E, C & I projects safely, on time, within budget, and to specifications.

Role Description:

Manage the installation and customer acceptance of Substation Control and Protection System projects in accordance with National Grid safety standards and local site work practices.
Lead and motivate a project team of software and hardware engineers (typically 1 to 5+) during the site installation and commissioning phases.
Control and manage installation sub-contractors (typically cable installation and minor electrical/mechanical works).
Hold regular report and progress meetings with clients, including producing related minutes.
Liaise with the Health and Safety Manager regarding all aspects of welfare on site.
Ensure sufficient resources are planned for site work to enable delivery to cost, budget, and quality.
Assist with Electrical Installation/Test/Commissioning activities.
Interpret customer requirements, undertake site surveys, and produce electrical drawings/installation specifications.
Undertake Risk Assessments and produce Method Statements; create/input into project safety, health, and environmental plans.Essential Requirements:

Experience managing E, C & I installation and commissioning activities (Substation Control Systems, Protection systems, or similar) on National Grid Sites.
Current "National Grid Competent Person."
TP144 or TP137.11 Certification.
Successfully completed Client Contractors National Safety Group Safety Passport Supervisor training.
First Aid at Work Certificate.
Willing to travel and work away at customer sites.
Full UK driving license.Desirable Requirements:

Candidates demonstrating greater compliance with the following will be considered preferentially:

Successfully completed specific health and safety awareness training delivered by recognized training providers (IOSH, CITB, RoSPA, BSC, etc.).
Working knowledge of the CDM regulations 2015, particularly the Principal Contractor Role, and experience managing sites as the Principal Contractor.
Experience in carrying out Electrical Installation works and holding current BS:7671 18th edition qualifications.
IOSH SMSTS certificate.
Successfully completed Construction Industry Training Board Construction Skills Site Managers Safety Training Scheme course (5 days) or equivalent.
Apprenticeship trained with the ability to undertake minor site installation activities as a "working" site manager.
Trained in Temporary Works Coordination/Supervision.
Undertaken Asbestos Awareness training.
Undertaken Impressed Voltages Training.
Understanding of UK Environmental and Waste Management legislation.
Understanding of relevant National Grid procedures (NG/ET/SR106, NG/ET/SR107, NG/ET/SR135, etc.).Personal Qualities:

Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
Strong and decisive in managing subcontractors.
