Despatch Supervisor - Manufacturing Sector
We are seeking a dispatch supervisor to join a fast-growing manufacturer in Coventry. The logistics team help both the commercial and production areas to ensure a smooth transition of deadlines and projects to meet the expectations and timescales of the client.
This role is critical to the success of the overall operation – and will mean dealing with all aspects of production and logistics teams on a daily basis, along with external partners and clients when required.
The role of dispatch supervisor would suit someone from a warehousing or logistics background within manufacturing and have experience of supervising staff on lower levels.
Key Responsibilities
· Responsible for supervision of all aspects of the despatch operation.
· Ensures availability of materials and parts are secured and ready for despatch on a timely basis.
· Monitors and maintains inventory levels of finished goods.
· Work with production teams, inventory teams, and supply chain to ensure deadlines are met.
· Ensuring compliance is up to date with health and safety standards in the distribution area.
· Knowledge of experience of logistics systems, with a good understanding of Microsoft packages.
· Managing the dispatch team and creating a working environment that reflects the company values.
· Managing the aisle activity and loading.
· Running of the daily exception’s report.
· Maintaining good inter-departmental relationships.
· Responsive to all queries resulting in a resolution along with process improvement.
· Managing Team Leaders effectively through training, 1:1’s, and providing clear objectives.
The ideal candidate for despatch supervisor will have:
· Have experience working within a distribution environment.
· Have previous experience of managing a team.
· Have working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and SAP.
· GCSE Level Maths and English.
· Have the ability to resolve issues quickly using clear logical thinking.
