Assistant Site Manager - Internals (12 Month FTC)

Reporting to our Senior Project Manager and working at our scheme near Clapham Junction station.

The Role

We’re looking for an Assistant Site Manager with a learning mindset to get hands on with handing over quality homes at our scheme near Clapham Junction station, a partnership with Peabody. This will be a 12 month FTC, with the potential to go permanent. As first completions approach, you’ll be planning and managing the internal fitout package, with expert guidance from our site managers. This is a perfect role for someone who has experience on site in a trainee or Assistant site manager position and willing to learn fast. You’ll be shadowing a site manager to begin with, getting inducted and picking up daily safety checks with subcontractors. Then, you’ll start taking responsibility for elements of quality assurance – logging quality checks on an iPad and driving the stellar standard of build quality that we pride ourselves on here. As you grow more confident, you will take on more responsibilities, encouraged to develop your skills and thrive in this role.

Our is a high-performance culture. High performance in this role means being a stickler for the details and being single minded about delivering quality homes that residents love whilst learning fast from the senior team that you will be working alongside. While you won’t be expected to know everything from day one, the right person for this role is eager, reliable, committed to building new skills.

The scheme you’ll be helping to deliver is unique - a 307 home residential scheme over 3 blocks rising to 11 storeys, with biodiverse gardens and unique amenities Peloton powered gym. The brickwork on the scheme is standout, with 13 different brick types featuring over 6 cores. Immerse yourself in our fast-moving project and gain invaluable experience in areas like brickwork, cutting walling, glaze breaks, kids’ play areas and concrete features. This is the final phase of a scheme that is occupied, meaning that you’ll be talking to the neighbours and building relationships as you’re out and about, as well as being part of the team that is housed in a second to none site office.

This is a culture where you’ll be giving and getting feedback from day one, because we think it’s the fastest way to learn and to build trust. We want to be challenged by you, too – we hate unnecessary hierarchy and “my way or the highway” has no place here.

So, if continuous learning is what you’re about, apply now!

Mount Anvil

What we do: We’ve worked in partnership for 31 years to create outstanding places in London. We’re growing, with our construction turnover doubling, and with a pipeline of new projects where we’re raring to get started and make a difference.

Why we’re here: We’re here to pursue better, differently.

Better: One of The Sunday Times’ “100 Best Small Companies to Work For” for over a decade, winner of multiple Pride In The Job and WhatHouse awards for our people and the quality of our homes, and proud to have the nation’s best site in our ranks (winning the highest possible marks across the Considerate Constructors Scheme’s five areas – the first site ever to do so in 22 years of the CCS).

Differently: Our culture is unusual. Different means more transparent with information. More direct with feedback that helps us all grow. More rigorous about setting goals, then giving more freedom to go and achieve them. It’s definitely not for everyone. We don’t hire know-it-alls, we hire “learn-it-alls”. As our CEO, Killian, says: “We work hard to find people who thrive on context and responsibility, rather than rules and procedures. We then work like owner managers, not a leader and a load of helpers.”

Benefits:

Private medical insurance for you and your family through Vitality (including discounts on spa breaks, cinema tickets and your food shopping, free Starbucks, 50% off Virgin Active Membership and more).

Income Protection Insurance to help you cope financially if you’re unable to work due to illness or injury, Life Assurance equivalent to four times your salary, your annual leave & Bank Holidays, enhanced maternity and paternity leave and workplace nursery salary sacrifice, allowing you to save tax and NI on monthly nursery fees.

We think the best benefit of being here is the learning culture and the ability to make a real difference – we dislike hierarchy and politics, and “not my job” isn’t in our vernacular. Which means if you really care about raising the bar and really want to feel connected to the end product, as opposed to like a cog in a big machine, this could be the place for you to grow your career
