Jim Gleeson at the CK Group is working with a clinical-stage biotechnology company who are developing neurological medicines. They are looking for a Director of Preclinical R&D, an experienced preclinical pharmacologist, to lead R&D strategy for their lead product and pipeline programs.

This role will be a permanent position requiring you to be office based in London once a week.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

As Director of Preclinical R&D you oversee preclinical R&D activities on a strategic and operational basis.

Leadership of the R&D team and oversight of the budget
Oversight of the generation of new pharmacological data to support neurological product development
Management of a variety of third-party research partners
Review and oversight of preclinical regulatory submissions to multiple regulatory authorities
Close collaboration with the Chief Medical Officer to provide preclinical pharmacology expertise for the design of clinical trial protocolsQUALIFICATIONS:

As Director of Preclinical R&D you will require:

BSc or PhD in Pharmacology or a related subject
Strong industry-based experience of heading up preclinical research
An excellent knowledge of CNS disease mechanisms and preclinical models
Experience of scientific contribution to regulatory documents
Strong project and financial management skillsBENEFITS:

Salary of up to £120K and benefits package
