Production Planning Manager

Location: Outskirts of Ely, Cambridgeshire

Hours: Monday – Friday 8am – 16.30pm (based on site)

Hourly Rate / Salary: Negotiable DOE

Duration: Permanent

Are you a dynamic leader with a passion for optimising production processes and driving continuous improvement? We are looking for a Production Planning Manager to join our client’s team and lead the way in ensuring seamless material flow and production scheduling.

Daily duties:

* Lead a team of 4 in managing material flow and production scheduling

* Oversee and enhance material flow from receiving through production to shipping

* Implement and standardise processes in scheduling, material handling, inventory management, and distribution

* Conduct continuous improvement activities

* Production and capacity planning on ERP

* Develop standard work processes, train teams and audit adherence

* Ensure team safety, drive performance appraisals, communicate objectives, and foster a culture of improvement

What we are looking for:

* Proven experience in planning, inventory control, or supply chain management

* Strong problem-solving skills (5 Whys, Ishikawa)

* Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., AX 2012 or D365)

* Excellent communication, mentoring, and organizational skills

* A proactive approach to health and safety responsibilities
