CCL Global are currently recruiting for a Structural Engineer for Steelworks to be based in Bristol, the successful applicant will take a leading role in the delivery of technical solutions on the HPC & SZC projects throughout its Design & construction.

Location: Bristol, UK.

Type of Contract: Contract inside IR35

Key duties will include:

You be involved in the wide-ranging activities undertaken by our Site and Office teams, which will include:

* Producing steelwork platform designs compliant with the Eurocode3 and ETC-C, other relevant codes

* Liaising with the building layout and piping teams to coordinate the design

* Maintaining QA procedures in delivering the SW design

* Working with the CAD designers in the preparation of the design drawings/models

* Managing engineering changes in line with company procedures

* Liaising with teams in France

* Resolving identified technical issues

* Receive, analyse and verify the consistency of the input data.

* Produces the deliverables for which they are responsible (assumption notes, technical specifications, calculation notes).

* Coordinate CAD Design

* Perform design activities for fastenings and anchorages in concrete.

* Develop substantiation reports and complete surveillance of applicable technical documents

* Perform technical verifications of civil engineering documents for their building.

* Create and maintain and responsible for the Design Risk Register

* Responsible for anchorage design activities

Requirements:

* Use of softwares like Microsoft Word/Excel, Navisworks, RSTAB (or similar), FEA

* University Degree or Engineering diploma + 6 years of experience in a Similar field

* Experience in Design of seismically classified steel platforms and structures from concept to detailed design delivery

* Use of 3D modelling and structural analysis tools

* Knowledge / Understanding of PWRs would be an advantage

* Knowledge and understanding of relevant Health and Safety regulations

* Experience in the nuclear sector and plant layout engineering would be advantageous

* Knowledge/understanding of the Eurocodes related to civil engineering and especially

* knowledge of the design of fastenings and anchorages in concrete.

* Knowledge of the design of reinforced concrete and pre-stressed concrete structures.

* Knows how to deal with the design and layout constraints

* Independent ability to coordinate the work of Technicians and Junior Managers
