Senior Structural Engineer
Leeds
My client are an award winning, employee owned Design Consultancy with offices across the UK. The business has grown from strength to strength over the last 60 years and due to another increase in workload, an opportunity has arisen in their busy Leeds office for a Principal or Senior Structural Engineer to join their team.
They are well-known locally for their work on projects such as the Tetley Brewery redevelopment, the Wellington Place masterplan, City Reach on Kirkstall Road, and numerous other high-profile mixed-use city centre developments. They have undertaken various projects for local educational institutions, including the University of Leeds, the University of York, and the University of Huddersfield, encompassing both new-build and refurbishment projects of different scales. Additionally, they are involved in projects for local healthcare trusts, including our ongoing work for Leeds Teaching Hospitals on the Rob Burrow MND Centre and the Building the Leeds Way redevelopment of the LGI.
They are engaged in stimulating and demanding projects, such as the new DfE offsite framework, the adoption of MMC, and meeting the NHS zero building standard and are looking for someone with project delivery experience, who is able to work somewhat independently while the team grows. They would also consider applicants who have experience managing people and projects and can help them become a more established team quickly so they can take on more work. The role will involve Project delivery while we continue to grow our team. This is a great opportunity to be a key part of building something that is destined for success
The role will involve Independently leading on the delivery of a wide variety of project types, including client liaison, financial management and quality management. You will also be supporting and mentoring other Engineers and Technicians in the development of their design and project information. You will be experienced in leading and managing some projects; including developing design delivery programmes and ensuring that these are adequately communicated to the team as part of a Project Briefing.
You will be proficient in the use of 3D structural analysis software, be comfortable making decisions, solving problems and be a trusted mentor and role model, providing technical guidance and enhancing the development of the team.
